Chicken N Pickle Announces Plans To Open in Glendale

by Pleasant View

Chicken N Pickle, the unique, indoor/outdoor entertainment complex including a casual, chef-driven restaurant and sports bar that also boasts pickleball courts and a variety of yard games, has announced Glendale, Arizona as the site of its ninth location. Chicken N Pickle will join the Westgate Entertainment District, located just east of the Agua Fria Freeway and north of the State Farm Stadium, home of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals.

“Our mission is to provide an atmosphere that fosters fun, friendship, and community and we are excited to bring that to Glendale,” said Dave Johnson, Founder of Chicken N Pickle. “We believe that bringing people together over a delicious, wood-fired rotisserie chicken, a cold beverage and some friendly competition can create unifying bonds that ripple throughout the community and beyond.”

Born in Kansas City in 2016, Chicken N Pickle’s original location has become a wildly popular destination for families, young adults and corporate gatherings. The company’s first move outside of Kansas City was to Wichita, KS in 2019, then San Antonio, TX in 2020. In 2021, Chicken N Pickle opened in Oklahoma City, OK, Overland Park, KS and Grand Prairie, TX. Two more locations are expected to open in late 2022 including St. Louis, MO and Grapevine, TX.

With this new addition to Glendale, it’s estimated that Chicken N Pickle will generate over 700,000 visitors annually and create over 150 jobs in the community.

“Glendale’s Sports and Entertainment District continues to be the epicenter for premiere experiential entertainment in the Valley,” said Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers. “We are thrilled to add Chicken N Pickle to the already robust lineup of experiences. Thanks to their investment and Yam Properties’ commitment to the area, the economic impact of the added jobs and visitors will maintain Glendale as a worldwide destination.”

The main dining area is spacious enough for corporate and social events, from lunch meetings to large rehearsal dinners and team building events. Chicken N Pickle Glendale will be equipped with bars, pavilions, multiple dining areas on the main floor and a rooftop dining experience, along with outdoor tables for guests to enjoy. The venue will feature numerous indoor and outdoor pickleball courts and a variety of lawn games.

Using responsibly raised, antibiotic- and hormone-free chicken, the menu includes delicious, rotisserie dishes available in four different seasonings along with pork and beef sandwiches and their signature hand-cut fries and tots.

Chicken N Pickle’s cultural imperative to the community is to give back, with many philanthropic events and service oriented endeavors to strengthen its neighborhood and beyond.  In 2021, through their four locations, Chicken N Pickle supported over 1,000 charitable organizations and donated over $70,000 to local nonprofits through their green cup campaign.

“One of our key tenets is to give back to the communities we serve,” said Kelli Alldredge, Vice President of Engagement at Chicken N Pickle. “We say ‘our hearts are local’ because we support our communities through philanthropy and through our business practices. We are thrilled to become a part of the Glendale community and begin supporting the neighborhoods around us.”

The Chicken N Pickle Foundation was formed in 2020 and works in partnership with local health, wellness and relationship-building charitable organizations to build long-lasting solutions to address the needs of the community. In the last year, the Foundation has provided each store with $6,000 for the employees to identify and support nonprofit organizations in their area.
