Customers Affected By AT&T’s Widespread Outage To Receive $5 Credit

by Pleasant View

AT&T has announced that they will be providing credits to customers who were affected by a major wireless outage earlier this week. This decision was made by the company and was communicated on Saturday through a statement released on their website. To compensate for the inconvenience caused, AT&T will be issuing credits to eligible customers.

According to the Dallas-based corporation, which has a network that serves approximately 290 million people in the United States, the majority of its customers experienced a service outage on Thursday morning that prevented them from making calls or sending texts. The company announced on its website, in small font at the bottom, that affected customers would receive a $5 credit per account within two billing cycles.

On Thursday, the service disruption lasted for over 10 hours before being restored in the evening.

According to AT&T’s statement, the widespread outage was likely due to a technical malfunction rather than a cyberattack.

The company acknowledged the disappointment caused by the outage and regrets the letdown for many of its customers. In order to avoid such incidents in the future, the company is implementing preventative measures.

According to AT&T, affected customers will receive a credit for the average cost of a complete day of service on their bills without needing to take any action.

The issuance of credits was not accompanied by a specific timeline from the company.
