During the holiday season, the West Valley has limited options for outdoor ice skating, however Skate Westgate is open for people of all ages to experience the joys of being on the ice.
For the seventh time, Skate Westgate will be held at Fountain Park on Westgate Boulevard, close to the Yard House eatery, from now until Monday, Jan. 15.
Skate Westgate helps welcome the holiday season. The ice rink is an added bonus to their holiday festivities.
The ice skating rink is tailored for any age, from 9 to 93. The seasonal activity attracts families, teenagers, preteens and even couples on romantic dates, and offers various skill levels on the rink.
In addition to skating, participants can make s’mores from 5 to 10 p.m. daily. Families will be able to roast marshmallows and assemble the traditional treat.
The facility can even be a great place for special events like birthdays and corporate functions. In the past, the ice rink has been rented for such gatherings.
At Skate Westgate, each session is limited to 45 minutes and the number of skaters on the ice is restricted. This helps to ensure that it doesn’t get too congested.
Season passes are also available and can be purchased by those who wish to skate on a regular basis during the season, granting them unlimited access.
