Know Before You Go: Arizona State Fair

Come one, come all! It is that time of year again!  The Arizona State Fair is bringing exhilarating rides, great food, and fun entertainment.

The state fair begins this Friday and before go, All About Arizona News has compiled a complete guide of what you need to know before you go.

The Arizona State Fair is scheduled to run from September 22 – October 29.

Starting September 22nd thru the 24th, the fair will open for customers at 4 p.m. Starting on September 25th, the gates will open at 12 p.m.

General Admission tickets are $15.

Directions

From East Valley and Southern Arizona Cities:
From I-10 westbound, take exit #143 C (19th Avenue exit). Make a right (north) on 19th Avenue. Pass McDowell Road to either the Monte Vista or Encanto entrances.

From the West Valley:
From I-10 eastbound, take exit #142 (27th Avenue exit). Make a left (north) on 27th Avenue to Thomas Road. Turn right on Thomas (east) and continue to 19th Avenue. Make a right (south) on 19th Avenue to the Monte Vista or Encanto parking entrances.

From the North Valley:
Take I-17 to exit #197 (19th Avenue, State Capitol exit). Travel north on 19th Avenue to the Monte Vista or Encanto entrances.

*Assessable parking recommended in this lot
$8: ENCANTO BLVD – Between 19th Ave and 20th Ave
$30: VIP Parking – 19th Ave and Monte Vista

‘DEALS & PROMOTIONS’

“READ AND RIDE”: This deal gives your child free ride passes! To do so, your child will need to read one book and complete this form. Reading one book gets the child one free ride. Children can redeem up to three ride passes. Eligible ages are from 5 to 14 and the form must be signed by a teacher, parent, or guardian.

UNLIMITED RIDE WRISTBANDS: This wristbands will be available for purchase every Thursday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and can be used until 8 p.m. The cost $50 per person.

FEEL GOOD FRIDAYS”: If you bring 10 cans or items of non-perishable food on Fridays, you’ll get one free admission ticketThis deal is redeemable on September 29, October 6, 13, 20 and 27 from noon to 6 p.m. This is brought to you by Sanderson Ford and all cans collected will benefit Operation Santa Claus and St. Mary’s Food Bank.

ARMED FORCES DAY: Veterans can receive free fair admission on Armed Forces Day Friday, October 20. This day is sponsored by Global Credit Union is valid from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Friends 55+: On Friday, October 13, attendees will get in for free at the state fair. Tickets are valid from noon to 6 p.m.

$3 TASTE OF THE FAIR: Enjoy $3 food every Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Not including Opening Day, Friday, September 22.)

All concerts start at 7 p.m. Ticket prices start at $20 and include fair admission. It is recommended to purchase your concert tickets ahead of time as most do sell out.
