On the heels of the widely popular Barbie movie, on Monday, Mattel Adventure Park released new information on the development of the state’s first amusement park.
The 9-acre park located in the heart of Glendale’s entertainment district, will be an indoor and outdoor park and will feature several childhood favorite themed attractions that have Barbie, Thomas & Friends, and Hot Wheels themes.
Location
Mattel Adventure Park is currently under construction and taking shape at 9601 W. Cardinals Way in Glendale. It will be part of the large VAI Resort that is also currently under construction.
Rides
For the first time the park officials have released information on the roller coasters that will be featured in the park.
The park will have two Hot Wheels-themed roller coasters: Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride will combine the hot rod’s legendary skull design and ascend 84 feet in the air. Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer will feature a double loop and two corkscrews.
Thomas & Friends: World of Sodor will have seven family-friendly attractions and rides and a dedicated indoor play space for little adventurers.
Masters of the Universe: will feature an epic 4,500 square-foot laser tag arena set in the iconic Castle Grayskull fortress. A true dream experience for fans of all ages.
Mini Golf Course with nine holes inspired by Mattel toys and games as Magic 8 Ball and Pictionary.
A large Uno themed climbing structure for adventure seekers.
Barbie Beach House combines innovation and interactive with the heart of the nostalgia of the brand. Take a peek at Barbie Dream Closet or relax with a beverage on Barbie’s Beach Rooftop.
Food
A park experience is not complete with good food and the Mattel Adventure Park is looking to deliver.
The park will offer Hot Wheels Legends Bar and Grill with bar offerings.
The Barbie themed rooftop bar and restaurant is not to be missed. Fans of all ages can indulge in themed alcoholic and mocktails that will delight. Offerings of sweet and salty snacks will also be available.
A high-end Mexican grill is slated to offer food and beverage area near the entrance of the park.
A family-friendly Pizza Kitchen will offer customers pizza, chicken tenders and salads.
A Thomas & Friends concession offering will sell coffee, juice and other snacks.
Ticket Prices
Official Ticket pricing for Mattel Adventure park has not yet been released yet.
Mattel Adventure Park has not yet released a specific opening date, but construction timeline is leaning toward sometime in 2024.
