Officials Rescue Overheated Hiker Off Deem Hills Park Trail

by Pleasant View

On Sunday afternoon, officials had to come to the rescue of a hiker experiencing a medical emergency on the Deem Hills Circumference Trail.

Phoenix and Peoria fire departments crews responded to the scene around 12:11 p.m.

Emergency personnel make the one mile hike up the mountain to locate and rescue the 50-year-old man who was overheated and dehydrated.

The man was treated before crews removed him from the mountain in a big wheel device to remove from the mountain.

The man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The firefighters sustained no injuries during the rescue.

This mountain rescue comes less than one month after an Oregon woman went missing and was found dead in the same area after hiking.
