According to a recent report, a Peoria man has been charged with murder by a grand jury for his involvement in a fatal car accident that resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to her young daughter due to driving in the wrong direction in Apache Junction.
On Jan. 20 at approximately 9:30 p.m., a crash occurred in Apache Junction. Numerous reports were made to authorities via 911 regarding a truck traveling in the wrong direction on the U.S. 60 near Mountain View Road. Shortly after, the truck collided with an SUV.
Adam Parker, 37, who was driving a truck, sustained severe injuries and was admitted to the hospital. After his release from the hospital, he was taken into custody and booked in jail.
Elizabeth McAloon, a 28-year-old woman who was driving the SUV, was transported to a hospital where she passed away. Her 7-year-old daughter, who was also in the vehicle, sustained severe injuries but they were not life-threatening.
According to court documents, the Attorney’s Office for Pinal County stated that Parker’s level of blood-alcohol was higher than 0.23.
Parker has been charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault. He appeared in court for arraignment on Friday.
