A puppy that was abused and discarded on the side of a highway was rescued by a truck driver.
On Oct. 20, near Benson, Arizona DPS reported that a truck driver had encountered a puppy with a zip tie fastened around its neck close to an exit ramp of I-10 in southern Arizona.
The motorist pulled over, loosened the zip tie and gave the pup water while a police officer was en route.
The trooper found the pup upon their arrival, displaying signs of a swollen neck and bloodshot eyes, but still acting happy and affectionate despite the situation.
Before being brought to Benson Animal Shelter, the trooper lavished the puppy with care, wrapping her in a blanket and giving her lots of affection.
According to the shelter, the pup is in a good condition and has already been placed in a foster home, awaiting the day it will find a new home.
