Female Victim Robbed During Visit to Senior Living Facility in Youngtown, Held At Gunpoint

In the west valley, a woman sustained minor injuries after an armed robbery occurred at a senior living facility in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Authorities were alerted to an incidence of an armed theft at the intersection of 113th Avenue and Rhode Island in Youngtown, just after midnight on Saturday. Upon arriving to the scene, it was discovered that the victim had been robbed at gunpoint.

According to authorities, the individual who was victimized was not living at the establishment, was leaving after visiting a resident. The supsect took the woman’s backpack containing several person and valuable items.

Officers and K9s from the El Mirage Police Department, along with a helicopter from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office searched the area for the suspect. Despite their efforts, no suspects were caught.

The injured victim, who sustained only minor harm, declined to receive medical treatment.

The investigation is still in progress.
