Glendale’s Abrazo Arrowhead Campus Unveils Multi-Million Dollar Expansion of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

by Pleasant View

Last week, the Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale showed off a new expansion to their neonatal intensive care unit which cost $14 million.

Friday saw a ribbon-cutting event to commemorate the completion of a 14-bed expansion at the intersection of 67th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.

In a press release, Julie Warner with Abrazo Health stated that the new NICU will be a great resource to manage intricate medical issues concerning both mothers and newborns, in addition to obstetric and fetal difficulties.

According to Bowman’s statement, the facility is designated as a Level III perinatal care center by the Arizona Perinatal Trust, and as a result, they are capable of providing specialized care for high-risk pregnancies and premature babies of any gestational age.

Every year, Abrazo Arrowhead Campus has over 3,500 newborns, including triplets, so enlarging the NICU by 8,500 square feet to increase the beds from 19 to 33 was essential.

Stephen Garner, the CEO of Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, said in the statement that they are devoting resources to their neonatal care and further improving the hospital’s other services for more serious cases.
