In the northwest part of Peoria, Vistancia has been a growing community over the last 20 years. Residents find the quiet suburb to be relaxing, however one complaint residence have had is the need for stores and restaurants. The community has continued to grow in the recent years and is still only being serviced by a handful of restaurant options.
The good news for those that call Vistancia home, it seems to be changing and more options are finally coming to the area.
Late last year, Fry’s broke ground on what will be the neighborhood’s second grocery store and a sign has gone up for an upcoming build of a Mountainside Fitness on the corner of Lone Mountain and El Mirage Road. In addition, the community’s newest fast food Chipotle establishment opened just before New Year.
News just broke that even more options are coming to the area. In the Fry’s Marketplace shopping center, McDonald’s will open a restaurant, along with undetermined ice cream shop, sandwich shop, a dentist. An additional restaurant has also confirmed a lease. No specific details have been released on the names of the stores that have been confirmed.
While the growth is a nice change, many residents aren’t too excited for additional fast food options. The hope is the community will have offerings of additional sit down restaurants, a Mexican-food restaurant, upscale shopping, a bagel shop, donut store or a juice shop just to name a few.
