The establishment, known as “Perfect Spa” located at 530 S. Montezuma Street, became the focus of an intensive investigation following suspicions of illicit activities.
The case began to unfold several months ago when detectives from the Human Trafficking unit attached to the Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) task force received tips about potential illegal conduct at the massage parlor. In collaboration with agents from Homeland Security Investigation and the Prescott Police Department, the team embarked on a detailed inquiry into the operations at Perfect Spa.
This investigation culminated in a decisive action on Wednesday, June 12th, when authorities executed a search warrant at the spa around 3:30 pm. The raid was part of a broader effort to clamp down on human trafficking and related offenses in the area. During the operation, significant evidence was collected, leading to the arrest of 64-year-old Yuzhen Qi. Qi faces several felony charges, including pandering, transporting a person for the purpose of prostitution, and operating a house or enterprise of prostitution.
The arrest of Qi has opened up further avenues of investigation, with authorities probing additional massage parlors that Qi is suspected of operating across the State of Arizona. This ongoing investigation underscores a larger, systemic issue within the local massage parlor industry, hinting at a network that might be involved in similar illegal activities.
