Sun City West Golf Course Maintenance Worker Who Suffered 2,000 Bee Stings Remains On Life Support

by Pleasant View

A Sun City West golf course employee remains unable to breathe on his own at a Valley hospital after being swarmed and stung 2,000 times by bees while he worked over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning at the Pebblebrook Golf Course, near 128th Avenue and Beardsley Road in Sun City West, firefighters were called to help a man, in his 50s, who was covered in bees and suffering from stings. What rescuers thought were grass clippings on the man’s face, turned out to be bees.

Firefighters put on bee hoods and turned on a hose with foam to pacify the bees. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital where, as of Tuesday morning, he is on intubated.
