To proactively plan for the public safety demands of our growing community, the City of Peoria has reached an agreement with the developers of the 7,100-acre master planned community, Vistancia Development LLC to secure land for a future Joint Public Safety Facility in North Peoria.

The new five-acre site, located north of the Central Arizona Project (CAP Canal), east of Vistancia Boulevard south of Twin Buttes Road, will house a future fire station and police substation.  The phased fire station will include up to five bays supporting the fire and medical needs ahead of the planned growth in the area.

“Rapid emergency response is critical for our public safety crews to ensure life-saving emergencies result in positive outcomes,” said Mayor Jason Beck. “I’m proud of this partnership with Vistancia that will assist in our city’s commitment to keep public safety a top priority.”

“We look forward to continuing our long-term partnership with the City of Peoria to offer the highest quality services and amenities to support our growing community,” said Mark Hammons, general manager of Vistancia. “The facility site is centrally located and will enhance the services already established to serve our residents and greater Peoria area.”

The facility will be located adjacent to the future 2.5-acre Twin Buttes Preserve Trailhead and hiking trail system built around the surrounding mountainous areas. At buildout, it will include parking for 12 vehicles, shade ramadas, and a water station.  The project will also include the extension of Twin Buttes Road that would occur simultaneously with the public safety building and trailhead construction to minimize redundancies and construction costs.
