Sandra Day O’Connor High School Student Dead, Another In Critical Condition in Phoenix Rollover Crash

According to authorities, a rollover accident in the northwest area of Phoenix resulted in the death of one teenager and serious injuries for another on Sunday morning.

The Phoenix Police Department reported that a single-vehicle accident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. near 43rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

Two teenage boys were the only ones in the vehicle and they were both transported to the hospital.

According to authorities, the driver, whose identity and age have not been disclosed, was reported to be in critical condition, while the passenger, 16-year-old Ryley Young, succumbed to his injuries.

Reports state that the car was traveling in a southern direction on 43rd Avenue when it collided with a curb, resulting in it flipping over and colliding with a tree.

There is currently no additional information provided. An investigation is still in progress.

A memorial has been growing near the scene of the crash.

Family and friends have been left flowers, candles and baseball memorabilia in honor of the victim. Young was a sophomore at Sandra Day O’Connor High School and played baseball.
